The main decision making body of the system is Defence Industry Executive Committee, ratified by Law No:3238. It is chaired by the Prime Minister and consists of the Chief of General Staff and the Minister of National Defence.
The Executive Committee is basically assigned with;
-
making critical decisions relating to defence industry issues and major defence procurement according to the Armed Forces Strategic Target Plan,
-
instructing SSM to conduct research and development of modern arms and equipment, and to have their prototypes built,
-
setting the guidelines for uses of Defence Industry Support Fund.
