A400M Transport Aircraft Program
Objective : To provide modern tactical transportation aircraft to Turkish Armed Forces.
Scope : Procurement of 10 A400M Transport Aircraft.

Status : The Programme was started in 1985 and Turkey has joined the programme in 1988. The participating nations in the programme are Germany, Belgium, France, United Kingdom, Spain and Turkey. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), prepared to realize the legal, administrative and financial arrangements between the participating countries was signed by the Defence Ministers. the Programme Board Decision (PBD), which arranges the relations and project management rules between OCCAR and 6 participating nations was signed by the relevant representatives on May 22nd 2003. A400M Contract was signed between OCCAR and the prime contractor AMSL on May 27th, 2003 in Bonn and the programme was launched. Final Assembly Line is planned to start in April 2007 and the first flight is scheduled in January 2008. The delivery of 10 A400M aircraft to Turkey will be completed in-between 2009-2014. The delivery of 180 A400M aircraft to participating nations will be completed in 2021.
