Department Task and Responsibilities

The mission of the Electronic Warfare and Sensors Department is to plan and carry out the related procurement projects in the area of Electronic Warfare and Sensors within the scope of the law 3238 to meet the requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces through the utmost utilization of the national capabilities.

Activities performed are;

• To make the necessary feasibility studies regarding the Turkish Armed Forces needs, to prepare and issue the Request for Proposals according to the project models, to evaluate the proposals, to carry out the contract negotiations with the awarded company and to manage the projects according to the signed contracts,
• To establish the infrastructure for design, development, manufacturing and repair-maintenance capabilities in Turkey in order to to meet the requirements for the electronic warfare and sensors, that mainly compose of the fields of electronic support, electronic attack, self protection, simulation and training activities
• To give support to the Main System procurement projects within the Undersecretary for the parts of electronic warfare and sensor in order to make sure that electronic warfare and sensor issues are comply with the future goals and plans,
• To manage the R&D activities as a part of the procurement projects or accomplish the R&D activities as the separate projects and also to follow up the R&D activities related to the procurement projects in order to plan and develop the infrastructure and capabilities for future demands,
• To analyze and follow-up the international cooperation and co-development opportunities in the field of electronic warfare and sensors in coordination with the related departmants of Undersecretary,
• To follow up the new developments in the field of electronic warfare and sensors by attending the international conference and symposiums,
• To carry out project activities in coordination with the realted branch of the Turkish Armed Forces
