Aim of the Project: The project, scheduled to continue until ’08, aims at meeting modeling and simulation requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces and involves the planning, directing, controlling and implementation of basic and applied research technology, product development, procurement activities and service purchases.
Scope: In order to support and organize multidisciplinary projects and to optimize the capabilities of universities and R&D institutions, along with industry participation, SSM promotes and encourages cooperation among the industry, universities and Armed Forces.
With this objective in mind MODSIM Laboratory was established in METU in 1999 and was converted into a Research and Application Center (MODSİMMER) in 2001 within the scope of a tripartite protocol between METU, SSM and General Staff.
The MODSİM Project involves sub-projects such as SENSIM (Sensor Simulation)-RAMOS (Radar Modeling and Simulation) and KAMMOS (Modeling and Simulation of Surface to Surface Combat) which have already been successfully completed.
Project Model: R&D
Main Contractor and Contract Signature Date : Considering sub-projects TÜBİTAK, ODTÜ, METEKSAN, BİLGİ, C2TECH, HAVELSAN; 17th of July 1998
As for the other TAF MODSİM projects,
-
SGKS C4ISR-MOS (Modelling and Simulation of Border Surveillance and Control System, C4ISR) (with TÜBİTAK-MAM, BTE),
-
KAMA C4ISR-MOS (Building a Conceptual Tool for the Modelling and Simulation of C4ISR) (with ODTÜ, METEKSAN, BİLGİ Group),
-
SAVMOS ÖDY (The Modelling and Simulation of Small Scale Operations, Life Cycle Management) (with HAVELSAN),
-
SAMMOS-1 (Modelling and Simulation of Surface Located Active Air Defence Operation) (with METEKSAN and CTECH)
-
MGKMOS (Modelling and Simulation of Joint Mission Force) (with ODTÜ and METEKSAN) Projects
are in progress.
