Department Task and Responsibilities

The main function of the Land Platforms Department; having three groups called Battle Tank Group, Vehicles and Special Projects Group and Amphibious and Tracked Vehicles Group; is to meet the defense and security requirements of Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) in the land vehicles and some special projects field.

The National Main Battle Tank ALTAY to be developed utilizing national resources with all intellectual property rights; and Mobile Floating Assault Bridge to be designed, developed and manufactured by Turkish engineers are just two examples of the programs being managed within our Department. Besides, we manage some armored and tactical vehicles local procurement programs; NBC protective suit development and production program; and some modernization programs of Turkish Army under the responsibility of our Department.

Our objective is to meet the TAF requirements with the utmost local design, development and production providing maximum local content in accordance with our strategic goals.
